Do You Wear Jewelry When You Work Out?

I feel my wedding rings get a nice cleaning when I wear them while swimming laps, but I have a friend who fears that her rings will slip off in the pool. When it comes to other jewelry though, I like to have my ears, wrists (except for my heart rate monitor), and neck clear since I get hot and sweaty. Not only that, but things dangling around me while trying to work out would be so annoying. What about you . . .

I always wear my jewelery, but I must add that I only wear my wedding band and a necklace that hasn't been taken off in about 10 years.

I do however take them off when swimming.

I was about to shout 'never' but I have a soft looseish silver bracelet I haven't taken off in (gasp!) 7-8 years.
But apart from that - NO! My fingers swell easily so no rings, and I hate getting sweaty and having things stick to my skin.

I'm with you Fit--I don't wear any jewelry except my engagement ring. I gotta wear that, though--it screams "Don't talk to me! I'm taken and I'm busy doing bridal boot camp!"

I just got engaged last week, so it still feels a bit weird for me to workout (and shower and sleep...) with a ring on, but there's NOWAY I'd trust my engagement ring to a shoddy gym locker!

Yes Maggie I'm totally with you! I defi do not remove the engagement ring during workouts . . . plus depending on how sleezy the guys are in your gym you need that protection of I'm taken Smiling

I usually wear my cross necklace and studded earrings, which never come off. I don't wear my wedding band or any other rings for two reasons: 1. to prevent the rings from getting scratched by any barbells, and 2. my fingers sometimes swell.

I wear ZERO jewelry on a daily basis. I don't know how I'm going to adjust when I get engaged!

I take off my bracelet and watch and sometimes necklace but keep my earrings on (they are studs and i'm always losing backs so it's easy to just leave them in)

The only jewelry I wear is my wedding and engagement ring. Both come off when I'm exercising.

I don't wear a lot of jewelry to begin with, only a watch and a ring. When I work out, I ususally change to my sport watch.

Ack! No. I'm not sure what bothers me more: the girls who drink Diet Coke on the treadmill or the girls who are overly bedecked in jewels...

Actually my answer was incorrect, I take everything off but my necklace as that is something that I rarely take off. I also wear a watch, but it's a sporty one w/a heart monitor, not one of my dress watches.

i have a necklace that i rarely take off (think the last time was because i HAD to for an MRI last spring) and a watch that i wear always. i actually have moments of panic when i take the watch off to shower and forget to put it on right away. i feel weird without. everything else comes off when i exercise...if i were swimming, that might change, though.

If I go swimming, everything comes out except for stud earrings. I have a necklace I wear all the time that I can hear clinking around in the pool when I do flip turns, and seeing my rings on my hands in front of me is distracting. If I'm just conditioning or running outside or on the treadmill I keep everything on. I've lost too many things in locker rooms by forgetting them or having them fall out of bags.

Just simple stud earrings and a simple necklace. If I'm in spin the necklace has to go... it drives me nuts when its tapping on my chest.

I don't wear much jewelry; just my diamond studs and my wedding/engagement rings. So I just leave them on because I think I'd probably lose them if I took them off, lol.

I take off all my jewelry, including my wedding set. I have to -- I do free weights, and I wear weight-training gloves. And yes, I get hit-on frequently. It's annoying.

Usually the only jewelry I wear is my wedding and engagement ring and stud earrings, so I typically don't bother taking it off for workouts. If I happen to be wearing a necklace or bracelet (which is very rare) I usually take it off.

I went to Oz with my family and picked out an opal and my dad had made it into a ring when I was 17 - I haven't taken it off (apart from to change fingers, I like to move it around) since. When I jog I take my watch too.
