While cookie cutters aren't always a requirement, there's nothing like a unique shape to add some originality to your baked creation. i was just at an outlet mall and saw a bag of 150 cookie cutters that i was going to buy - but thought better about it cause that would just make me eat too many cookies. there were animals, sail boats, different foods, holiday ones, flowers etc etc etc

I love unique cookie cutters. I was looking for a skull shaped one for halloween so I could decorate skull cookies to look like sugar skulls for Day of the Dead. Unfortunately they all had bow ties or other silliness.
