how do you keep the flowers watered?

I'm sure you place a bowl or something in the colander to catch the water! I love this! Innovative!

That's not kelly green. Apple green or lime but kelly is darker.

I'm also curious about how it's watered. Is there a bowl inside?
As for the color, I it looks chartreuse to me. It's too yellow to be lime green.

Another way to use a colander is make a container garden by grouping them. You need colanders, soil, seeds, and wire coat hangers. Plant the seeds or plants in the soil as you would usually would in the ground or flowerpot. Use wire cutters to cut the center of the bottom section of the coat hanger. String the ends through opposite wholes on the colander and bend them into loops that can support the colander. Place your hanging colander outside (like from your clothesline). A D.I.Y. hanging container garden.

You can set a big chunk of floral foam inside, which absorbs water magically, and/or set another bowl inside to retain the water.

I was wondering about the watering thing too but that only makes it a better gift because people were going to want to look at it to figure it out. This would be a great housewarming gift but I'm sure it's too expensive for my taste.

I have given colanders before as a housewarming gift and filled it with kitchen tools and gadgets and they loved it!
