Relationship Protocol: Have You Picked Up Any Bad Habits From Your Significant Other?

I'm a creature of habit, but the older I get, the more I realize how many habits of mine have been adopted from past boyfriends. Cracking my neck, the way I butter my corn, and having to close every closet door before going to bed are just a few. I think it's only natural to pick up such tendencies, but once you start to pick up the bad ones, it can be hard to let them go. Of course, bad habits are all a matter of opinion but tell me, have you picked up any from your significant other? If so, tell us about them below.

Ha! My exboyfriend started smoking because of me, and I am an extremely casual smoker. And now, 4 years later, he can't stop.

Some phrases that he regularly uses--I use them now, too. But most of all, his problem-solving skills. He's got a very logical way of solving everything and now I've found that I kind of solve things the same way, too. We've both taught each other different things! I wish he could catch on my cleanliness, though :|

No, not that I know of. However, I notice hubbie has picked up some of MY habits, like using some of my key phrases.

My boyfriend and I are junk food addicts but he's a bad influence on me because while I try and avoid buying the items, he doesn't. Our house often has gigantic bags of chips, ice cream, you name it. And once it's there, I can't resist. Or, when I see him eating it, I have to have some too.
    Sad

It's been terrible for my weight.

The whole careless thing. Like, "Oh, what's another cheeseburger this week..." I also picked up a lot of his phrases and some British slang (because my ex is British). I guess they're not very bad! Haha, but he picked up my love for very cheesy jokes.

Yup. I started smoking a lot of pot due to my ex. But the funny thing is that he also got me out of it....

I use his phrases and I've become more attached to brand name styles than I was before. My fiance is quite pretentious. Sticking out tongue

this is going to sound weird, but my dh is always late. so after years of trying to get him to be on time i started cutting it close just like him (for his things). did you know you can get a rush from being RIGHT ON TIME when you cut it really, really close and pack other things in there. i actually susoect that this is part of the reason people are late, they like that high. i had to stop because it was making our life too disruptive (kids) but i can at least see the appeal.

We are both terrible. He now smokes cigarettes (used to just smoke a bit with friends), I use his sayings (helps me fit in as I'm aussie in the UK), I've picked up his obsessive cleaning fits (I used to be quite clean, but nothing like this) and his driving style!!!

I also picked up alot of things off a few friends.. and in the past I've had a potty mouth due to my ex blokes... Oh well you live and learn Smiling

I picked up mannerisms, expressions, etc. plus his love of takeaway and junk food. I was super skinny and vegetarian before we met - now I have to lose a bunch of weight and it's tough.

a bigger appetite, ordering whatever I want, cursing more, and my new found hatred for wearing clothes in our apartment! Oh, and drinking whiskey! But at the same time, I've become more patient, better able to manage anger, more tolerant of the joke being on me, and my drinking has gone way down to almost nothing! Also, he's a much better budgeter than I am, so that's slowly sinking in.
