I'm hosting a small tailgate party on Thanksgiving instead of an actual Thanksgiving lunch or dinner. So I'll be using the recipe for turkey sliders, but with a side of stuffing, and then a pumpkin pie for desert!

In all seriousness, I'm not hosting anything for thanksgiving itself (I'm going home, and mom and dad will be doing all of the cooking - dad gets in the zone and woe upon those who disturb him) but I am going to be hosting a pre-thanksgiving event for a bunch of international students, but that gets reimbursed by the law school.

On food? Nothing. Though, I will certainly help my Mom prepare everything :]

My family is all congregating in Pittsburgh to be with my grandfather and we are going out for Thanksgiving. I am not really spending anything, but I don't think the cost per person has risen at the place we go. It will be wonderful to have all of us together from around the country, we usually are only a group of around5-6 and now we are 20.

i don't think that i'll really have to spend anything this year. since we're going to my fiance's family - they are hosting and his mom always goes all out so my contribution will probably be in hard labor!

Nada - the parentals host Thanksgiving every year so they take care of it. Perhaps I'll splurge and buy a bottle of wine...

husband and I are going to lunch with my mom and brother. I'm assuming mom is paying, but I guess we should offer to help!

I'm in the 50-75 range and all I'm making is pies to bring to our various family gatherings.. yikes

I don't know yet. My husband and I aren't visiting family or hosting (we're students states away from family) so we haven't decided if we're going to do a small dinner for ourselves or just eat out.

I can't believe the average is only $44! I can't even buy regular dinner for that much...

tlsgirl - you may want to consider bringing something to your bf's house for dinner!

I'm bringing a homemade pie to my mom's for Thanksgiving, but I'll also be spending $$ on a tank of gas for the trip. Plus, I'll be helping to prepare the food. I do know that my mom always pays a lot for her turkey because she gets a fresh, free-range bird from the local butcher shop.

I'm going to be in charge of the ham!!!

My extended family is having a Thanksgiving Potluck, where everyone brings a little something, or a lot of somethings depending on the aunt. I'm planning on bringing a mashed sweet potato casserole and either a pumpkin cheesecake or pumpkin cake, so everything shouldn't cost me more than $40.

I'm in charge of green beans and green bean casserole, so it'll definitely be less than $25. But add in gas, wine, who knows?
