If you live in a place where snow has accumulated, then you can take this opportunity to do something nice for someone while burning a few extra calories. Did you know that a 150 lb. person could burn around 206 calories in just 30 minutes of shoveling snow? So when you're out shoveling off your own walkway, think about helping out a neighbor and doing theirs, too. Not only will you be doing a good deed, but you'll also be getting in a winter workout.

If you will be taking this opportunity to burn a few extra calories while doing something nice for someone else then be sure to check out my tips for shoveling snow safely.

We always shovel and salt my neighbors front. She's a great grandmother, it's only right.

woo hoo! we've had so much snow here (with more expected tonight); I've been shoveling the walk and wheelchair ramp for the 89 year old next door (if he does not beat me outside!), and doing some cursory shoveling on the vacant house next door. Guess I should be more excited for snow! Smiling
