New Clues to the Identity of Atlanta Housewife's Sugar Daddy

For anyone who has been following Bravo's Real Housewives of Atlanta, you've probably heard Kim refer to her boyfriend/sugar daddy as "Big Poppa." So far we know that he has a lot of cash, connections and supplies Kim with a constant influx of cash and gifts. Celebrity gossip blog, YBF reported a few clues about the identity of Big Poppa. Take it for what it is, it's just gossip but here's what YBF published:

BIG POPPA REVEALED!:More Details On “ATL Housewife” Kim’s “Big Poppa”
We’ve learned some interesting new details about “The Real Housewives Of Atlanta” co-star Kim Zolciak’s “Big Poppa.” She’s been keeping who her mystery sugar daddy a secret on the show. But one of the stylists used by the ladies for the show (yes, this “reality show” has stylists) dishes to TheYBF.com that Big Poppa isn’t the type of man we’re thinking he is. He is a celebrity like Kim said, but he’s not in the entertainment business. He’s a married celebrity in the business world and is on par to become a billionaire soon. Oh, and she has more than 1 Big Poppa. Foolery!

Said stylist who has spent numerous hours with Kim and Big Poppa dishes this: Big Poppa is a middle eastern guy (it is believed he is from Turkey). He hangs with tons of the celebs in ATL. Jeezy, TI, Dallas Austin, just to name a few. He’s in his mid-50’s. His house was featured in the Fat Joe and Nelly video “Get it Poppin. And this dude has been giving Kim hundreds of thousands of dollars…just because. I told y’all the Jump Off profession was somethin’ serious in the ‘08.

And here’s another juicy tidbit: We’re told this mystery Big Poppa can actually be seen on an upcoming episode, but of course, he will not be revealed as such. He will appear on an the episode where Kim meets with Dallas Austin about her music career. Scandal!

I’m told he’s a really cool guy, but the fact that he’s MARRIED with a family prevents said stylist from revealing his full name to me. Apparently he could lose a lot if this situation is fully revealed. I’m also told Kim has not 1, but 2 Big Poppas! But there is one in particular who is her main sugar daddy, and that’s the one we need to find out about. A few names have been tossed around on other sites, but we’re going to hold off on mentioning those until we uncover the whole shebang. “Lose a lot” my ass. Looks like somebody should have thought of that before they started tricking to Kim. Despite popular belief…it IS tricking even when you got it.

Source: YBF: http://theybf.com/index.php/2008/10/23/more-details-on-atl-housewife-kim...

How Obama Got Elected

This video accompanies the How Obama Got Elected website for an upcoming documentary. In addition to obviously wishing to portray a political ignorance among many Obama supporters, it purports to show the media's impact on this presidential election.

While I did cringe throughout this video and frequently wished to crawl under my coffee table and curl up in the fetal position, I think it has to be remembered that this is part of a documentary, and those definitely aren't unbiased. So, while I'm amazed, disturbed, and saddened that twelve seemingly sane, educated voters would fail to correctly answer so many of the questions, it certainly isn't the whole story. I would like to see a comparable polling done with McCain supporters. And Barr supporters... And Paul supporters... And on and on.

Here are the overall poll stats from the site:

512 Obama Voters 11/13/08-11/15/08 MOE +/- 4.4 points

97.1% High School Graduate or higher, 55% College Graduates

Results to 12 simple Multiple Choice Questions

57.4% could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing).

81.8% could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing).

82.6% could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing).

88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing).

56.1% could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing).

And yet...

Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes.

Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter.

And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her "house," even though that was Tina Fey who said that!

Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.

Only .5% got all of them correct. (And we "gave" one answer that was technically not Palin, but actually Tina Fey.)

Zogby Won't Redo Obama Poll (public)

Hmmm...
By: Mike Allen/Politico
November 20, 2008 04:03 PM EST

Pollster John Zogby has rejected a conservative commentator’s offer to sponsor a poll to test the knowledge of people who voted for John McCain.

The commentator was proposing to mirror a poll of Obama voters that caused a political uproar when it suggested that Obama supporters didn’t know what they were voting for.

John Ziegler, a Burbank-based documentary filmmaker, had commissioned the poll of 512 Obama voters. The results delighted the right and inflamed the left, drawing widespread coverage on the Web, cable news and radio.

Zogby International said in its summary of the results: “Just 2 percent of voters who supported Barack Obama on Election Day obtained perfect or near-perfect scores on a post-election test which gauged their knowledge of statements and scandals associated with the presidential tickets during the campaign, a new Zogby International telephone poll shows.”

Ziegler posted the results and a video of Obama voter interviews at HowObamaGotElected.com.

John Zogby said in a statement defending the poll: “We reject the notion that this was a push poll because it very simply wasn't. … In this case, the respondents were given a full range of responses and were not pressured or influenced to respond in one way or another. This poll was not designed to hurt anyone, which is obvious as it was conducted after the election.”

Zogby told Politico in a telephone interview that the volume of reaction was in the top 10 percent he had received to his 24 years of polling.

This week, Ziegler proposed to pay for a similar poll of McCain voters. But Zogby told Politico he will not do the poll the same way.

“I am happy to do a poll of both Obama voters and McCain voters, with questions that I formulated and sponsored either by an objective third party or by someone on the left, in tandem with a John Ziegler on the right — but poll questions that have my signature,” Zogby said.

“I believe there was value in the poll we did,” Zogby added. “I also believe it was not our finest hour. This slipped through the cracks. It came out critical only of Obama voters.”

Ziegler responded: "I am shocked by John's statement that he would do another poll but not an exact duplication. What is the point of that? Not their finest hour? This a was great poll. This didn't fall through any 'cracks,' they just got scared. ... The point of the poll was for my documentary on the media's impact on voter knowledge."

Ziegler had e-mailed Karen Scott, managing editor of Zogby International: “I am writing because there is great interest in commissioning the same poll of McCain voters, and I have obtained the money to do so. If done right I think this can be a win/win for everyone. Please advise me as to the company's thinking on this.”

Scott e-mailed Ziegler in response: “Thank you for being in touch with us; I am sorry no one got back to you yesterday. Your request has been reviewed here at all levels, and we are not interested in this project at this time.”

Ziegler told Politico: “I’m outraged. I find this amazing. There was nothing wrong with the original poll. I’m the exact same person I was last week. The left-wing blogosphere basically demanded this.”

Adult Stem Cells Form New Trachea for Woman

A mom in Spain is putting her tuberculosis struggles behind her, thanks to a new trachea grown from her own stem cells.

After a serious lung collapse, a team of surgeons from Spain, England and Italy replaced Claudia Castillo's lower trachea and bronchial tube with a lab-grown windpipe, CNN reported.

A donor trachea was stripped of the donor’s cells, and Castillo’s own stem cells went to work. The operation was reported Wednesday in the British medical journal The Lancet.

"Surgeons can now start to see and understand the very real potential for adult stem cells and tissue engineering to radically improve their ability to treat patients with serious diseases," said Martin Birchall, professor of surgery at the University of Bristol, who was part of the team that did the operation. "We believe this success has proved that we are on the verge of a new age in surgical care."

Should I drop out of Grad School?

I am currently in my 1st semester of grad school and I am finding myself in a rut. I feel like a glorified undergrad, I am taking courses with material that I am not finding relevant to my research, and while I don't find the material excessively challenging I am finding marking is excessively harsh. With my research I also feel like I am not being challenged, while my supervisor is in general a nice person, I don't really find I am benefiting much from her direction. I feel useless, and my natural laziness is coming back after all that hard work I did in undergrad to repress it. At this point I know that I don't want to suffer through a Phd and postdoc for a slim chance of becoming a professor, the drive just isn't there. Now I am not even sure If I want to follow through with a masters, I already have a solid undergrad, will a masters from a less prestigious school help that much? I feel like I choose this path for the wrong reasons: it was right in front of me, it allowed me to support myself, and I didn't want to go on job interviews. Now the thought of a job search isn't sounding so bad.

So should I take the plunge and drop out? Or should I stick it out and see if things pick up?

Obama, Dems Seek to End 401(k) Plans

Sen. Barack Obama's Democratic allies in Congress are looking into a radical new plan that would fundamentally change the way Americans save for retirement. House Democrats recently heard testimony on the idea and, under a potential Obama administration, would likely move to put it in place. Democrats want to seize the money that workers currently invest in their 401(k) plans and replace the popular retirement savings accounts with a one-size-fits-all government sponsored retirement account. Under the scheme, Americans would be forced to transfer all of their hard earned retirement savings from their 401(k) to the government.

The government would contribute $600 a year to fund each account and would pay a rate of return of around three percent in interest. The government would also mandate that each worker contribute 5% of their yearly salary to the accounts. Under current law, workers with 401(k) plans contribute to their retirement accounts and earn interest tax free. The Democrats' plan would end those tax breaks, amounting to as much as a 15% tax hike on each American worker.

Rep. Jim McDermott (D-WA) said recently that Democrats had better ideas for the $80 billion that Americans contribute to their 401(k) plans each year. "We have to start thinking about whether or not we want to continue to invest that $80 billion for a policy that's not doing what we say it should." Sen. Obama would likely sign on to the plan as president.

Obama, McDermott, and Congressional Democrats miss the point that under current law, Americans have control over their retirement savings, where and how it is invested, and when and how much they contribute. The idea to nationalize retirement savings is another example of Democrats' socialist proclivities. They want control of Americans' retirement to reside in Washington DC, not on Main St., all in the name of "retirement security."
