Dear Sugar,
My father is a firefighter, and I grew up with the mentality that I needed to tell my dad I loved him every single time he went to work. When my parents divorced things changed, and since I no longer live with him or my mom, I don't get nervous every time he goes to work anymore. However, my brother just graduated from the police academy in Cleveland.

Dear E. Jean,
Last weekend I had a new guy over for dinner. I spent two days cleaning, one day cooking, and everything went fantastically until we started watching a movie after dessert and fooling around on the couch.

Here's a problem hitting close to my home: a pet that accepts you as the "alpha" but considers himself to be your household's VP. North definitely listens to me better than anyone, and often gives me a glance if someone else tries to get him to do something.
Last night's episode of Greatest American Dog featured a challenge where the competitors tried to get each other's dogs to misbehave while the owner attempted to hold their pooch's attention and sit-stay. Hmm, this is quite the dilemma.

Dear Sugar,
I've been in a relationship for about a year. I met my boyfriend while I was doing an internship at the company he is currently working for. He has been great to me so far — he's patient, loving, and sweet, however I am feeling rather insecure and bugged about his education.

I already shared my first fave – antibacterial hand gel – but I also couldn't survive life with North without a lint brush or Tide-to-go minis. He doesn't get his muddy paws on me that often, but I have quite the obsession with keeping a stain-removing pen in my purses, desk, car . .

Dear Sugar,
I am a young, college student who is comfortable in her own skin. However, I seem to only be pursued by men that are much older than me. Guys my age just seem to look straight past me, while older men always show interest in me.

Dear Sugar,
My boyfriend and I have been together for more than six months and although we are from drastically different backgrounds, we love each other very much. The problem we face stems from the fact that in our previous relationships, we were each the one who wore the pants and we were both the dominant ones. He is loud, outspoken, highly opinionated, and sometimes very arrogant — I am exactly the same way.
He expects me to be the perfect domesticated woman — cook, clean, and listen to every word he says without a complaint.

Don't leave your grills (or pets) unsupervised at any outdoor parties. Have some extra sticks and balls to distract him from hovering around the BBQ and your yums. If your speedy pup grabs something piping hot, or gets too close to the grill, you should have a plan, and supplies, to treat paw burns.

Keep the trash safe from your nosy pets. In addition to the obvious dangers of cleaning product poisons or choking hazards, the bacteria and molds found in rotting foods can seriously endanger your furry friends . .
