Come Party With Me: My Birthday — Dessert Although cheesecakes squares or macaroons are delightful options, my birthday party won't be complete without a birthday cake. Chocolate cake is my favorite and this interesting twist on the classic German chocolate cake is unexpected and scrumptious. Since my party is at a bar, 15 Romolo, I'll show up early enough for the bartenders to securely store the cake in a refrigerator.

Globe Cake: Love It or Hate It? This buttercream-frosted cake, a 14-inch replica of the globe, was created by celebrated cake designer Sylvia Weinstock. Made for Travel+Leisure's art auction, Project Globe, the cake costs $2,265 and feeds 100. I think the cake is incredible and would love to know how it was made and how it retains the circular shape.

Peachy Keen Pound Cake A few weeks ago, a large bag of ripe white peaches arrived at the Sugar HQ. We ate as many as we could, but on Friday afternoon I noticed that there were quite a few left. Knowing that they wouldn't last the weekend, I brought them home and decided to make a sweet breakfast treat for the office.I found a recipe for a peach pound cake, and while not particularly healthy, it was absolutely delicious.

Happy Birthday, North: Two Sweet Cakes For My Sweet Boy! When cruising around looking for a perfect birthday pawty-cake recipe for my pup, I found a site that sells fondant for dogs. That's means if I wasn't super last minute, I could have ordered him either special treats with his adoro face on them, or just sent in a photo and special ordered their pet-friendly fondant (made of whole-wheat flour, peanut butter, milk, soy flour, baking soda, brown sugar, and milk) already set up to top 12 pupcakes. For his next fiesta with fellow furry friends, I'll bake up either the Peanut Butter Carrot Cake or the Ginger Banana Version .
