I'm totally blown away that I have not purchased both of these Xbox 360 and PS3 fighting joysticks already! Where's my credit card? If you spent as much time as I did trolling the neighborhood pizza-joint arcade, you recognize my excitement. The Hori Fighting Stick for the Xbox 360 and PS3 ($60 and $50 respectively) totally bring back the joy of banging on buttons and thrashing the joystick during Mortal Combat, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles — or whatever your fighter of choice was back in the day.

Amazon reviewers are saying to stick with fighting games if you want to get the best results with these bad boys. So unfortunately, that means if you're looking forward to a rousing session of Burnout Paradise, it's wise to stick with your usual controller.

How Well Do You Know the Era of Mad Men?

Are you ready for something insanely addicting but also highly informative? Then check out this Mad Men-themed Jeopardy game online. The game covers the early 1960s through categories like "Ad Slogans," "In the News," and "Popular Culture." I've played several times now and I'm amazed at the trivia I've absorbed through the show. TV is so good for making people smarter (of course, I have to say that!). It's also funny because when you get the answer wrong the crowd gasps really loudly, and when you get it right sometimes your little cartoon person will raise the roof in joy.

It's good practice for when an actual Mad Men category will be included on a special Jeopardy on Oct. 17. I, for one, will be watching with a pen that I will pretend is a buzzer. Sigh. I'm such a sucker for both of these shows.

In this world of instant and text messaging, cell phone conversations and general rudeness, it is a wonder our children have any sense of social skills at all. Teaching children manners is never an easy task, but it becomes even more difficult when there are so few good examples. The team at Playskool recently introduced a new line of board games designed to introduce social graces to the junior set. The Noodleboro line includes three games that teach manners, listening and sharing. Each game comes with a book and CD featuring a story to go along with the game's theme and some fun songs that support the social skills. There is nothing like a classic game night to bring back memories of my childhood. I remember sitting around the kitchen table and battling it out with my parents and sister as we played endless rounds of Uno and Monopoly. As I begin introducing my daughter to the world of board games, I thought it would be a good opportunity to see how well you remember a few of the classics.
