The overturning of the
ban on same-sex marriage in California has
changed many lives and simultaneously sparked a slew of arguments. In fact, as reported by the
Sacramento Bee, a recently wed couple — Rachel Bird and Gideon Codding — are starting their own debate over the wording of the new gender-neutral marriage license, which has changed the traditional reference of Bride and Groom to Party A and Party B.
Bird offered her own explanation, saying: "We are traditionalists — we just want to be called bride and groom," and for this couple, anything else is unacceptable; they refuse to sign the license as-is.

Since I'm so traditional, you probably won't be surprised to hear that I consider it
bad luck for the bride and groom to see each other before the wedding ceremony. Of course some couples don't believe in that old-wives tale, and I'm sure those that do get a peek or even share a moment together before their walk down the aisle still live happily ever after. I'm just too superstitious to chance it.

Well, kinda. As reality would have it, the groom hurls the bride over his shoulders like a jumbo sack of potatoes while huffing and puffing his way up an endless flight of stairs and then "romantically" collapses a few steps short of the front door. Ah, the stuff that fairy tales are made of.
With so many wedding day
traditions out there, it's hard to keep them all straight. Nowadays most brides and grooms give each other a special gift right before walking down the aisle, typically delivered by the best man and
maid of honor. What I want to know is, did you buy your groom a wedding day gift?

Since wedding planning can be really hectic, why not
relieve some stress by trying something new with your fiancé? When yoga poses are done with another, especially someone you care about, they can relax your mind, open your heart and deepen your connection. Yoga is great on your own, but when you practice Partner Yoga, you can achieve what you never could alone.

Planning for the big day can be really stressful. Working women/brides-to-be have so much to think about: flowers, the ceremony, bridesmaids, the cake, the honeymoon. Planning the wedding is almost a full time job!

As promised, we are back again with more Wedding Season fun. A few weeks ago was all about the Engagement and now it's time for anything and everything related to actually planning the Big Day! There is sure to be something for everyone whether you are planning the wedding of your dreams or a guest with lots of summer weddings to attend.

We have come to a point in
Engagement Week where we must also focus on the groom some. It's so easy to get carried away in the girly aspect of weddings, we sometimes forget that the Mr. in this equation deserves something special too.

Spring has sprung, which means that Wedding Season is around the corner. We get tons of emails asking for advice so we at The Sugar Network are ready to share wedding related stories, advice and fun. This week we are kicking things off with everything involving the Engagement.

For all you bride-to be's out there, I just came upon this great website called
Yoga For Weddings. Basically, it's a service that offers private yoga classes for brides, grooms, and their families, focusing on de-stressing and making strong connections.
Real teachers will come to you, and give classes for the
months leading up to your wedding, such as a
Bride Class, Groom Class, Bride & Groom Class, Parent Class, In-Law Class, Bachelorette/Bachelor Party Class (definitely not your traditional party), Bridal Party Class, Sibling Class, Groom & Dad Class, Bride & Mom Class, Bride & Sibling Class, Groom & Mom Class, or Family Combo Class.
