Even though I know that months of painting (and repainting) toes can do a number on my nails, much to my chagrin, my surfaces have ridges I swear weren't there in seasons past. Butter London is one of those beauty brands that is fast becoming cult property. Although the company is actually based in Seattle, it offers a thoroughly British experience with quirky names such as Old Blighty and Chimney Sweep. Now that matchy matchy is less fashionable than ever, does this still apply to makeup looks? When I was little, I knew of only two nail shapes: dagger (like that of my then mean older cousin — ouch) and bitten down to the nubs (like me — also, ouch). While you can wear your nails however you please, I've got some guidelines on choosing which nail shape might suite you best.
Generally speaking, try to match the shape of your cuticle to your free edge (the part you are filing).

I will be the first to admit that keeping my nails in tip-top (sorry, bad pun) shape is a difficult goal for me.
